Bonjour ! My name is Katie Cook and I write stuff for people for a living!

I am a firm believer in getting to know those you hire or work with; whether the project is big or small. The better I know my clients, the easier the work becomes and the more fun we have! So, I am glad to see you taking the time to get the 411 on me.

I’m an academically trained public relations practitioner with applied experience in both small organizations and global companies. I’m a passionate writer and am highly engaged in social media activities (personally and professionally).

Though I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, I have spent time abroad in France, where I learned how to communicate in the most difficult circumstances: in a foreign language, in an unfamiliar city and far away from anyone to rely on. I was forced to go back to the basics of communications, which is centered around relationship-building and ingenuity. I return to those basics with each and every project I pursue.

In a world of “faceless” communication, I support authentic communications that reflect the personality and voice of the sender. Though I am versatile, my preferred writing style is bold and lively; void of boring old jargon. I like to keep it short, sweet and really easy to understand.

As for my super interesting personal life, I am a 32 year-old dog lover, intermediate french speaker, wanna-be art historian and wine enthusiast who loves to cook and entertain. I’m always up for a picnic in the park (with french goodies in tow!) or a walk in the mountains with my Bouvier des Flandres.
